Today’s program features a conversation with Joseph Zaccardi, Marin County poet laureate emeritus and author of four collections of poetry, including Vents; Render; The Nine Gradations of Light; and, most recently, A Wolf Stands Alone in Water. “What is found here, to paraphrase William Carlos Williams, is an uncensored exploration of the human heart.

Levine has just published a short story collection, The Man Who Gave Away His Organ : Love and Obsession at Midlife and joins Suzanne Lang in conversation. Before turning to fiction and poetry, Richard Michael Levine was a magazine writer and editor for many years, publishing feature articles in Harper’s, Esquire, the New York Times Magazine, New York, Rolling Stone and many others. He also taught magazine journalism at the University of California at Berkeley.

April is National Poetry Month and WordTemple host Katherine Hastings will celebrate by airing a good number of poets reading or performing their work.  Included in the line-up are Adrienne Rich, Tomas Transformer, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, and Michael McClure with Ray Manzarek.  All this, and more, on WordTemple, Sunday, April 19 at 4 pm.
