• All 14 California House Republicans voted for the budget bill Thursday. Its passage paves the way for a tax code overhaul that would eliminate a major tax break for Californians.

 After the House of Representatives passed the budget bill on Thursday, Oct. 26, 2017, Capital Public Radio asked each of the 14 California congressional Republicans for a formal position on the following question: 
As part of federal tax reform legislation, will you support or oppose any proposal that would reduce or eliminate the state/local tax deduction? Find out who responded and how HERE.

• The governors of California and Nevada want Congress to change how the nation pays for fighting wildfires. The Forest Service has spent a record $2.4 billion battling forest fires in the West during one of the nation's worst fire seasons.
