Honing his chops in the clubs around Nashville since he was a teen, Joshua Hedley's debut is the aptly titled "Mr. Jukebox". He has played fiddle and guitar for Justin Townes Earle and Jonny Fritz and is a fixture at Robert's Western World, one of my favorite spots to see music in downtown Music City.
"I never thought I could afford to make a record," Hedley says. "But one day I was like 'I'm just going to cut four songs. I'm going to book some studio time, and worry about how I pay for it later.' It worked out."
The EP landed at Third Man Records, where Jack White offered Joshua a contract, the second country artist on the label, after Margo Price.
This the real deal when it comes to country, Hedley's songwriting is top notch and his delivery is as authentic as Nashville gets.
