We have several exciting new programs starting this week on the radio:
Saturdays at 6 pm and midnight, starting Oct. 4
Snap Judgment is a smoking-hot new show from NPR. Winner of the Public Radio Talent Quest, host Glynn Washington delivers a raw, musical brand of storytelling, daring listeners to see the world through the eyes of another. Before creating the Snap Judgment radio show, Glynn worked as an educator, diplomat, activist, actor, political strategist, fist-shaker, mountain-hollerer, and foot stomper.
Beale Street Caravan
Tuesdays at 11 pm, starting October 7
Each week, Beale Street Caravan brings the Sounds of Memphis to an international public radio audience, offering live, concert performances from contemporary masters of blues, soul, and rock ’n’ roll traditions. The program is hosted by Pat Mitchell-Worley and Kevin Cubbins, with feature segments from industry insiders such as Jerry Wexler, Bob Porter, and Robert Gordon.
Saturdays at 11 pm, starting October 4
Blue Dimensions is a weekly one-hour program of blues, jazz, and other related styles of music, focusing on present-day artists and songs, though with a certain nod to the past and the great history of the music. Each week host/producer Jonny Meister features an album, artist, event, or other topic, talks with blues artists, and offers great music not found elsewhere.
Mondays at 10 pm, starting October 4
We are excited to have added this classic folk show to our schedule. Folk Alley host Elena See collects the best in traditional and contemporary folk, Americana, and roots music from the latest releases, classics, and exclusive Folk Alley in-studio and live concert recordings.
