How about a whole Something Completely Different show of people named Brown. Shouldn't be difficult. Take Greg Brown, Julie Brown, Pieta Brown and Alison Brown, and you've got your show. But wait a minute. How about Jackson Browne? No problem. Mix Jackson into the recipe, and you've got a great Tuesday night gang. His name ends with an "E"? No problem.

Start with Jackson, and a title like From Silver Lake, which the kid recorded all the way back in 1972. The title of the CD was Jackson Browne, but there on the cover was one of those canvas water bags that we used to hang on the front bumpers of our cars, bags that bore the label Saturate Before Using, which ultimately became the title of the CD.

Julie Brown never got very famous, but fame must come to someone who writes and records I Like 'Em Big & Stupid. For a second shot of fame, include Homecoming Queen's Got a Gun, and you've got it made.

If you're Greg Brown, put out a CD called Songs of Innocence & Experience, making up songs that go with poems by William Blake. Do a song called The Train Carrying Jimmie Rodgers Home, and another called :Live Nude Cabaret. That should do it.

You're Pieta Brown? Be one of Greg Brown's three daughters, get guitar player and producer Bo Ramsey to produce your first album, marry Bo later on, and have Iris Dement call you "The best damn poet I've heard in a long time." That and being real good should be enough.

Jackson Browne? With an "E"? Try writing and singing great songs for over forty years, plus being voted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2004 by Bruce Springsteen. What's that? I already talked about Jackson? He recorded the first song of this show in 1972 and the last in 2014? Oh.

Tune in Tuesday, June 27, 7 to 9PM, KRCB-FM Radio 91. Hope you enjoy it.
