When: Tuesday, September 12th; 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Where: KRCB-FM (91.1, 90.9, on line @ KRCB.org, Comcast 961, w/app @iTunes store and Google Play)
There's absolutely no need to pray for rain, when so much water is available this Tuesday on your friendly neighborhood radio station, KRCB-FM. Ready for tears? Try Dexter Gordon's "Guess I'll Hang My Tears Out to Dry." Looking for a bayou? A blue one, perhaps? No prob! We've got "Blue Bayou" by Linda Ronstadt. Willing to settle for a simple creek? Wait til you hear "God Willin' and the Creek Don't Rise" by Ray LaMontagne and the Pariah Dogs. But be careful what you ask for, 'cause you might get something completely different. Remember Lucinda Williams, who sings "I Asked for Water (He Gave Me Gasoline)."
As you well know, all the water songs in the world (and they are legion!) will not cure a real bad-news drought. You also know that even a nice wet rainy season like last year's doesn't mean that we can sit back this year and watch the reservoirs fill up again. The Drought Goddess may have entirely other plans for California. So be sure to honor Her on Tuesday, September 19th, when we'll be presenting the ever-popular Autumn show on Something Completely Different. Sure, the real Autumn isn't until Friday the 22nd, but I just can't order up a Tuesday Autumn from Amazon and have a flock of carrier pigeons deliver it up at my bidding. Even those dudes at Fox can't manage that one!
Hear Something Completely Different every Tuesday beginning at 7:00 pm on KRCB-FM Radio 91!
