The Supreme Court decided Monday not to hear an appeal from Sonoma County that would have ended a civil suit brought against the county by the parents of Andy Lopez, the 13-year-old boy shot by sheriff's deputy Erick Gelhaus in 2013. The decision opens the way for a trial to begin this fall or winter. KRCB news director Steve Mencher talked with filmmaker Ron Rogers about the decision.

Rogers is at work on a documentary about the aftermath of the Lopez shooting.
