NEW Releases May 5th / May 9th, 2017:

Lake Street Dive "Free Yourself Up" - CD of the week

May 4, 2018

The title of the Brooklyn-out of Boston based quartet is certainly appropriate.  Lake Street Dive have freed themselves by self-producing this release. After working with super producer Dave Cobb on the last project, "Side Pony", the band decided to go at this one from within. "We were at the helm of every decision being made," says bassist Bridget Kearney,"I think it led to a record that we're all really happy with because it sounds the way we wanted it to sound." Ten new songs to give us all a chance to escape the unending news cycle.

CD of the Week: Van Morrison - Versatile

Dec 8, 2017

Van Morrison is on a roll....his second release of new recordings in the last few months. Versatile follows the earlier Roll With the Punches.  Where "Punches" was slanted toward R&B, Versatile features classic tunes from the Gershwins (A Foggy Day), and Cole Porter (I Get a Kick Out of You), as well as several originals. The release also features Van not only on vocals, but alto sax too!

November 30, 2017

Neil Young & Promise of the Real "The Visitor" is Neil's third release in the last year.  Young once again uses Lukas Nelson's band Promise of the Real to back him up on ten songs bemoaning our current political waters. Never one to mince words, the songs include "Already Great" , "When Bad Got Good", and "Stand Tall"

September 29, 2017:

The Lone Star-bred collective, The Texas Gentlemen, takes its cues from some of the iconic acts of the past — the quicksilver brilliance of The Wrecking Crew and Bob Dylan’s one-time backers The Band are the most obvious examples.

Bruce Cockburn: Bone on Bone

 August 18, 2017 -

Not Dark Yet was recorded in Los Angeles in the summer of 2016. The album provides a potent look at the sisters' individual and collective artistry through eclectic song choices from writers ranging from the Louvin Brothers, Nick Cave, Kurt Cobain, and back to Jessie Colter. Shelby and Allison wrap their arms around the past, plant their feet in the present, and nod toward what's around the bend with a co-written 'Is It Too Much' to close out the ten-song set.
