Blind Boys of Alabama- live in studio this Saturday

Sep 28, 2017

The Blind Boys of Alabama join Doug Jayne on "Our Roots Are Showing" Saturday Sept. 30.  During their seven decade long career, they have performed for three different presidents at the White House. The band's new release "Almost Home" features songs written by Ruthie Foster, the North Mississippi All-Stars and Valerie June. They will chat about their amazing journey and perform live in Studio A.

This week on Our Roots are Showing - host Steve DeLap will be interviewing banjoist Jayme Stone.

From Jayme Stone's website:

"Two-time Juno-winning banjoist, composer and instigator Jayme Stone makes music inspired by sounds from around the world—bridging folk, jazz and chamber music. His award-winning albums both defy and honor the banjo’s long role in the world’s music, turning historical connections into compelling sounds."

Saturday February 11th - The Reverend Shawn Amos stops by KRCB-FM Radio 91 to visit with Doug Jayne on Our Roots Are Showing at 3:30 pm.
