eclectic

This week’s brand new episode of Mountain Stage marks the return of special guest host Joni Deutsch, and live performances from the Southern soul outfit Marcus King Band, emerging Appalachian troubadour Tyler Childers, singer-songwriters Caroline Spence and Tristen and the classically eclectic pop maestro Kishi Bashi.

They’re all in live performance on Mountain Stage, Saturday September 16th at noon on KRCB-FM Radio 91.

Yes...I know...I know I promised...but...what I mean is...wait a minute...I'm...I'm...I'm KEEPING MY PROMISE! Yes, no more three group Somethings...after this one.

And, unlike most of the Something shows, this one is almost exclusively Twenty-First Century! And they are as follows, and in this order:

GREAT AMERICAN TAXI. You'll thrill to hear deathless tunes like Fuzzy Little Hippy Girl, Maud Only Knows and Radiation Blues.

Host Jorma Kaukonen introduces each show's featured artist in a series of concerts recorded at the Fur Peace Ranch guitar camp. An eclectic blend of performances including blues, folk, Americana, rock, bluegrass, and jazz. Featured artists include Chris Smither, Happy Traum, Hot Tuna, It's a Beautiful Day, Roy Book Binder, New Riders of the Purple Sage, Ruthie Foster, Bob Margolin, and many more.

This week - we hear the second set from Bill Kirchen and Jimmie Dale Gilmore in a duo performance recorded April 8, 2017 at the Fur Peace Ranch.

When: August 8 - September 8th 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Where:  KRCB-FM (91.1, 90.9, on line @ KRCB.org, Comcast 961,  w/app @iTunes store and Google Play)

Once Roland (that's meeeee!) gets an idea in his head, it can be very difficult to change to a different idea - - at least, that's what my mother used to tell me. So...in the last couple of weeks, I've become addicted to Something Completely Different shows that feature three musical groups or individuals that somehow fit together - - and, yes, the operant word is "somehow".
