The County of Sonoma and the City of Santa Rosa have opened a Local Assistance Center (LAC) in partnership with FEMA and the California Office of Emergency Services (CalEOS). The LAC is a one-stop shop where residents who have been affected by the fires can find about critical services to help you recover from the fire disaster.

FROM SANTA ROSA POLICE DEPARTMENT - EVACUATION ORDERS LIFTED 

As of 3:00p.m., the following mandatory evacuations have been lifted: 

The Rincon Valley, Sky Hawk and Los Alamos areas of Santa Rosa. This includes all evacuated areas north of Highway 12, east of Calistoga Road to Melita Road outside the fire perimeter. Calistoga Road at Harville Road remains closed.

The County of Sonoma and City of Santa Rosa have opened a Local Assistance Center as a one-stop resource for residents who have been impacted by the fires. Services include FEMA, DMV, Red Cross, child care, housing assistance, and others.

Summary of October 17, 2017, 1 PM Press Conference 

This afternoon, CAL FIRE, the Santa Rosa Police Department, the Santa Rosa Fire Department, the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office and the California Highway Patrol provided updates related to the fires in Sonoma County.

The County of Sonoma and the City of Santa Rosa have opened a Local Assistance Center (LAC) in partnership with FEMA and the California Office of Emergency Services (CalEOS) starting Saturday, October 14th and open daily for at least 2 weeks. 
 
 

CENTRAL LNU COMPLEX

Evacuation Reduction Notice

As of 1:00 p.m. today, the following Evacuation orders have been lifted:

• Highway 128 north to Vanoni Road outside the fire perimeter

• Oakmont neighborhood to include all streets south of Highway 12, east of Calistoga Road to Pythian Road. All northbound roads off Highway 12 will still be closed, under mandatory evacuations orders.

VA Clinic Operation Updates for North Bay Fires – October 17, 2017:

- Santa Rosa VA Clinic – open for walk-ins and urgent issues only. Preparing for a return to full operations on 10/18.

- Clearlake VA Clinic – open and fully operational.

- Ukiah VA Clinic - open and fully operational.

- Eureka VA Clinic - open and fully operational.

Shuttles will run only between the San Francisco VA Medical Center and Santa Rosa on 10/17 and 10/18. VA Shuttles will not travel north of Santa Rosa.

California Statewide Fire Summary 
Monday, October 16, 2017 

11,000 firefighters continued to make good progress on 14 large wildfires  Burning across the State, despite the fact that several new fires ignited. On the current 14 large wildfires over 213,000 acres have burned, an estimated 5,700 structures destroyed and sadly 41 people have been killed. This morning, a private water tender driver assigned to the Nuns Fire tragically died in a vehicle rollover on Oakville Grade in Napa County.

The Sonoma County Coroner’s Office has positively identified the following decedents and their next of kin have been advised.
 

• Carol Collins-Swasey, 76 years old from Santa Rosa 

• Lynne Anderson Powell, 72 years old from Santa Rosa 

• Arthur Tasman Grant, 95 years old from Santa Rosa 

• Suiko Grant, 75 years old from Santa Rosa 

• Donna Mae Halbur, 80 years old from Larkfield (Santa Rosa) 

• Leroy Peter Halbur, 80 years old from Larkfield (Santa Rosa) 

• Valerie Lynn Evans, 75 years old from Santa Rosa 

Sonoma County Transit will resume limited operation on Friday, October 13.

Sonoma County Update on Multiple Fires 

Santa Rosa, CA  –  October 11, 2017 at 2:45 PM  –

Emergency response agencies throughout Sonoma County continue to fight numerous fires in the County. The County’s Emergency Operations Center remains active and is staffed around the clock. CAL FIRE continues to release fire activity and containment information at approximately 7:00am and 7:00pm daily at fire.ca.gov.. There are 11 confirmed fatalities from the emergency.
