• Two weeks before vote-by-mail ballots go out – and six weeks before the June 5th primary – the California governor’s race is coming to your television set. (Do people actually say that anymore?)

• Federal investigators are looking for the origin of an E. coli outbreak stemming from romaine lettuce from Yuma, AZ that's sickened 53 people in 16 states. A food safety expert says an Alaskan prison contains a clue to the origin of the pathogen.
