Georgia

In this week’s ‘back by popular demand’ broadcast, eTown turns on the southern charm as the crew heads to Athens, Georgia for a very special installment of our ‘eTown on the road’ ongoing series. We’ll be coming to you from the legendary Georgia Theater, joined by both a local musical group Cicada Rhythm and our longtime eTown friend (and singer/songwriter extraordinaire) JJ Grey. We’ll have lots of great music, plus a conversation with a local woman whose Georgia-based nonprofit organization provides books to low-income children in the area.

On this week's show we'll hear progressive singer/songwriters Kree Woods out of Nashville, TN and Molly Bancroft, originally from the Southlands now living in Michigan... Americana/roots with Brigitte DeMeyer and Boston area new grass band Joy Kills Sorrow... alternative singer/songwriter from Athens, GA Lera Lynn... and from Brooklyn, Emily Zuzik... then we'll finish up the hour with two classic covers - The Cowboy Junkies performing "Sweet Jane," and Patti Smith with Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit". That's all coming up on the next Women In Music.
