J Mascis co-founded Dinosaur Jr. in 1984, and the high-volume indie trio’s music over the past decade sounds just as vital as it did then. As a solo artist, J’s been equally prolific, recording three records in the last seven years as a place to showcase his quieter, yet still loud, material. 2018’s Elastic Days is filled with some of the most beautiful songs of his career, musically and lyrically. We’ll hear tracks from that album today in a live mini-concert. That’s coming up on the next World Cafe, with host Stephen Kallao.
