Juno Award winner Matt Mays has been on the road for nearly two decades, wowing audiences with his amazing rock growl. He’s got a new record, called Once Upon a Hell of a Time, and this Fall, he'll release an acoustic version of the album, called Twice Upon a Hell of a Time. We'll hear both styles in a live studio performance today. And Matt shares stories from his career with host Talia Schlanger, from surfing Canada’s east coast in Winter, to playing Toronto's legendary Horseshoe Tavern.

This week on Our Roots are Showing - host Steve DeLap will be interviewing banjoist Jayme Stone.

From Jayme Stone's website:

"Two-time Juno-winning banjoist, composer and instigator Jayme Stone makes music inspired by sounds from around the world—bridging folk, jazz and chamber music. His award-winning albums both defy and honor the banjo’s long role in the world’s music, turning historical connections into compelling sounds."
