New Music

All Songs Considered is NPR's guide to discovering new music below the radar. Every week, host Bob Boilen and producer Robin Hilton go through hundreds of new CDs to find music that's worth getting excited about, whether it's the latest Swedish pop band, a hip hop artist going ambient, or a singer-songwriter with a twisted new take on love.

As Colvin & Earle, longtime friends and admirers Shawn Colvin and Steve Earle have united to record their self-titled debut, a true standout in careers already filled with pinnacles and masterpieces. Produced by the masterful Buddy Miller and recorded in his living room studio, Colvin & Earle contains six co-written originals plus inspired covers including the Rolling Stones ‘Ruby Tuesday,’ and Emmylou Harris ‘Raise the Dead.’ Few things can touch the magic of artists so in tune that they seem to be able to read each other’s minds.

Discover new music on the New Releases Hour, Tuesday mornings at 11 am (repeated Wednesdays at 7 pm) when KRCB-FM pairs the Last Record Store owner and KRCB afternoon music program host Doug Jayne with longtime morning DJ Brian Griffith. A full hour of commercial-free new releases each week, played and evaluated by two pros who know the music best! Here are a few of the things we'll be playing this week.
