Richard Thompson

Finale Friday

Sep 27, 2018

As our fall fundraiser winds down, we would like to thank everyone who has taken a moment to support KRCB.  Friday's show will be just as fun-filled as the rest of the week has been because we welcome the great Richard Thompson to the airwaves.  Plus Joey & Kenneth, the Milk Carton Kids, talk about hosting the Americana Music Awards and the technical difficulties that ensued during the show...Tune in, and support great commercial-free local radio!

This week, the biggest brightest stars, and most exciting emerging artists of Americana gather together in Nashville to showcase their stuff for AmericanaFest. We celebrate with music by artists who are performing at the Fest – including Amanda Shires, Richard Thompson, and The Lone Bellow – and dive into some live recordings from World Cafe Nashville sessions. That's coming up, on the next World Cafe with host Talia Schlanger.

For the week of February 17, 2015:

Robert Earl Keen: Happy Prisoner - The Bluegrass Sessions is an album unlike any other in his storied catalog. Inspired by the bluegrass and acoustic music he grew up around, Keen has put his unique stamp on fifteen standards and other beloved tunes (twenty on the deluxe edition) by Flatt & Scruggs, The Carter Family, Jimmie Rodgers, even Richard Thompson. Special guests include Lyle Lovett and Natalie Maines on vocals, Nickel Creek's Sara Watkins on fiddle, and Danny Barnes on banjo.
