Our guest this week on Art of the Song is three-time Woody Guthrie Award winning singer/songwriter, KC Clifford. Music has always been a guiding force in KC’s life, and her talent and love of performing on stage revealed itself at an early age. She was two when she first sang in public and composed her first song at age seven. KC Clifford studied opera at the prestigious Indiana University School of Music, but found her true voice in folk music while earning a degree in vocal performance at Belmont University in Nashville.

Our guests this week on Art of the Song are Iain Matthews and Andy Roberts of Plainsong. Plainsong was a British folk-rock band, formed in early 1972 by Iain Matthews (formerly of Fairport Convention), Andy Roberts and 2 others. The original group split up before the end of that same year. Some eighteen years later, Andy encountered Iain when he was performing in a pub in Brighton, and the two decided to revive Plainsong. In 2014 they recorded some songs of Richard Farina, to mark the approaching 50th anniversary of his death.

Our guest this week on Art of the Song is renaissance man, Joe Crookston. He is a songwriter, guitarist, painter, fiddler, slide player, eco-village member and believer in all things possible. Joe served as Folk Alliance International’s 2016 Artist-in-Residence, and his songs are being made into films. Joe Crookston is a master storyteller seeking the creative edge. If you love a moving song and musical madness, Joe Crookston delivers it all, the melodies, the lyrics, the energy, and a deep passion for well-written songs.
