The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors invites community members to attend and provide input to guide post-fire recovery efforts at a workshop on natural resources and economic development on Tuesday, February 13. Officials from the City of Santa Rosa and other local, state and federal officials will be taking part. 

The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors invites community members to attend and provide input at the Housing Recovery Workshop TOMORROW - Tuesday, February 6th, 2018. 

Representatives from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Burbank Housing, North Coast Builders Exchange, City of Santa Rosa, County of Sonoma, Sonoma Clean Power, Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, Sonoma County Transportation Authority, and the California Department of Housing and Community Development will present information on a number of topics.

The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors invites community members to attend and provide input to guide post-fire recovery efforts at three upcoming public workshops. Each workshop will focus on a different topic, including Housing, Natural Resources, Economic Development, Health and Human Services, and Infrastructure. 

Topic areas will be discussed on the following dates:

Secrets of Successfully Dry-Farming Grapes

For vineyards, dry farming means no irrigation, relying only on what Nature provides—with an assist from composting and other supportive measures. An experienced practitioner shared his insights at an on-site workshop Tuesday morning.

Using cover crops to add organic material to the soil is another important step in Bernier's dry-farming process.

The dry farming workshop was co-hosted by the Community Alliance with Family Farmers and the Sonoma Resource Conservation District.

On Thursday, January 16 memoirist Theo Nestor is offering a free writing class based on her new book Writing Is My Drink: A Writer's Story of Finding Her Voice (And A Guide to How You Can Too) (Simon and Schuster, 2013) at 7 p.m. at Book Passage in Corte Madera.
