Amanda Shires has been pretty busy since her last release "My Piece of Land" in 2016. She's been raising her toddler Mercy Rose, touring with her husband Jason Isbell and his band the 400 Unit, and finishing her Masters.
Not to mention writing her new album "To The Sunset" by sequestering herself in her closet. Shires won the best emerging artist award at last years Americana Music Festival even though she has been working professionally since the age of 15. Teaming once again with producer Dave Cobb, Amanda has put out a collection that defies genre. It rocks hard with graceful lyrics (helped no doubt with her new degree in Poetry), "the gold-blue sky of morning" is rhymed with "bees inside us swarming". She brings stories of blue-collar folks making their way through uncertain times with wit and gut busting rhythms.
