• President Trump’s legal team tried to recruit top attorney Ted Olson to help defend the president in the Russia Investigation.  While Olson won the fight against Prop 8 in the Supreme Court, he won’t be defending Trump. 

• A man on PrEP in Washington State became infected with a drug-resistant form of HIV despite taking Truvada daily.  Health officials continue to say though that Truvada remains a highly effective defense against HIV infection.  

• And in California, the first lesbian woman was elected to the office of Senate President.

• The Pentagon accepts the first transgender person into the United State military pursuant to a court order, despite an order by President Trump. 

• The U.S. Supreme Court upheld a decision in Arizona granting parental rights to a lesbian and said states could not limit rights of same-sex couples that are currently provided to opposite-sex couples. 

• And in New York, a court of appeals ruled that discrimination in the workplace based on sexual orientation violates Title VII of the Civil Rights Act.
