The Milk Carton Kids

Finale Friday

Sep 27, 2018

As our fall fundraiser winds down, we would like to thank everyone who has taken a moment to support KRCB.  Friday's show will be just as fun-filled as the rest of the week has been because we welcome the great Richard Thompson to the airwaves.  Plus Joey & Kenneth, the Milk Carton Kids, talk about hosting the Americana Music Awards and the technical difficulties that ensued during the show...Tune in, and support great commercial-free local radio!

AmericanaFest just ended and we're back from Nashville with 10 thrilling tunes for you. The artists are, for the most part, emerging musicians who tackle this diverse genre from all angles. NPR Music's Ann Powers, Jewly Hight and Bob Boilen spent the past week trying to hear as many of the 500 bands in the 40 or so venues around town as possible. Listen and find out what we discovered and what we'd love to pass along.

This week on Folk Alley: a nod to Dad's in honor of Father's Day with music from Steve Martin & Tim O'Brien, Harvey Reid, and Rodney Crowell; new music by Lori McKenna, The Milk Carton Kids, David Francey, Olivia Chaney, Steve Dawson, Twisted Pine and The Slocan Ramblers; favorites from Jason Isbell, The Wood Brothers, and much more.
